Our aim is to impart knowledge in a fun and inspiring way, so that our students grow effectively under good mentorship and develop a wealth of knowledge and technique that allows for confidence and control in movement; ultimately letting them relax and have fun on the dance floor with their dance partner.

We have a great team of teachers who collaborate and knowledge share, so that teaching is consistent across all classes. We have a collective 45years of experience+ between us and we are all passionate about building a stronger dance community, allowing our students to discover how beautiful this world of Latin dance can be.

Kat and Eddie have been performing together since 2014 as a couple and even before that as part of various semi professional teams. Their shows are powerful, sharp, energetic and dynamic. They have competed as well as performed all over the world and are regulars at all the major UK salsa scene events. They perform together as a duo, both individually as soloists as well, and they are often caught on stage with their various dance teams.

2015 cast as featured dancers in the box office hit Cuban Fury starring Nick Frost.
2018 won a LUKAS award (Latin UK Awards) for Best Tropical Dance Performers of the Year
2019 World Salsa Summit Semi Professional Cha Cha Cha and On2 Champions
2022 Global Salsa Summit 3rd Place Professional On2 Champions.
and have placed in numerous Global competitions as Semi-Pro On2 and Cha Cha Cha Champions.

Esencia Libre offer choreography services for Salsa: Crossbody and Cali Style. Groups through to solos, we are happy to help you choreograph from scratch or give feedback and input for an existing piece of work. Interested, contact us for a bespoke quotation.

As part of our choreography skill, we can help you with the most special dance you might have in your life, your wedding dance. Suitable for absolute beginners we help create a choreography that suits your personal style and is not overly complicated or daunting. Everyone has a different pace of learning and skill level, so we encourage you to start early so that both partners feel confident and ready for your day with plenty of time to practice. We recommend starting about 2 - 3 months out so that you have plenty of time to master your skills, start thinking less about the steps and perhaps even work on your “performance" / or at least sneaking in a smile here and there for your other half, so that you can enjoy the moment, having fun during this experience together. After all this is what it's all about.

In 2019 Kat completed a judging certification with the World Salsa Summit judging panel, led formerly by Billy Farjado, who now runs Global Salsa Summit. This has put her in a unique position to understand the concepts of judging and what the judges are looking for when dancers step onto the stage to compete. Each competition is so different and we can help you navigate the scene so that you feel confident and prepared for your big day, ensuring that you meet criteria, and maximize your chances to achieve your best result possible.

With a collective knowledge of various world renowned competitions, one of our team will be happy to help you with your competition prep if this is something you are interested in. Competition can be a wonderful experience and game changer for stepping up your level. Whether you go at it alone, with a dance partner, with a friend, or even with your teacher there is usually a category to suit all. It’s very much like a sporting environment, and can be intense. Far beyond the realms of social dance, competition prep requires sacrifice, hard work, dedication, consistency and the will to want more. You need to be prepared to put yourself out there to be critiqued by adjudicators and accept feedback for improvement. Despite the grind required, there is something truly special and rewarding about stepping onto that dance floor and dancing for your 1 chance, dancing for what feels like your life in that moment!
